Social scheduling skills, MCP servers, and building blocks explained

Question 1

What is a building block in OpenQuok?

Accepted Answer

A building block is an installable agent extension — usually a skill (SKILL.md), an MCP server, or both. Each entry includes install commands, setup docs, and tool definitions so you can add capabilities to Claude, Cursor, Codex, OpenClaw, Hermes, and other hosts. Browse Building Blocks or filter by tag on Agents.

Question 2

How do categories, tags, and the hub sidebar work?

Accepted Answer

Use the left sidebar on Building Blocks for search, sort, type, categories, and tags — that is the main way to filter the catalog. For full browseable indexes, open See All categories or See All tags.

Question 3

How do building blocks help me schedule social posts?

Accepted Answer

Install OpenQuok Core as an MCP server in Cursor or as a skill on OpenClaw and Hermes, then ask your assistant to list integrations and queue posts — or use the CLI for scripted batches. Sign up, connect channels on Channels, and approve everything on the calendar before publish. Chain blocks into playbooks for full marketing workflows.

Question 4

What is the difference between a skill and an MCP server?

Accepted Answer

Skills package instructions and commands agents read from SKILL.md — common on OpenClaw, Hermes, and skill-based hosts. MCP servers expose tools over the Model Context Protocol for editors and terminals like Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex. Some listings ship both so you can pick the install path that matches your agent. See agent setup guides and MCP setup guides.

Question 5

How do I install a building block or combine several into one skill?

Accepted Answer

Open a listing on Building Blocks, expand the card, and copy the skill install command or MCP server config for your platform. Each entry links to a setup guide with transport details (stdio, HTTP, or SSE), auth steps, and environment variables. To merge multiple blocks, select Add on cards in Account → Saved → Explore or open Skill Builder — see Compose a playbook.

Question 6

Where do I manage my own building blocks and playbooks?

Accepted Answer

Sign in and open Account → Saved. The **Library** tab lists your drafts and published listings. The Saved library guide covers stats, edit, unpublish, and delete. To go live on the hub, follow the publish guide.

Question 7

What is MCP and how does OpenQuok use it?

Accepted Answer

MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets AI assistants connect to the tools you use. Connect OpenQuok in your MCP client and your agent can list channels, read platform rules, and schedule posts without opening the dashboard. Start with MCP getting started or a MCP setup guide.

Question 8

How do I schedule social media posts with OpenQuok?

Accepted Answer

Connect channels, write in Creating posts, then pick a time on the calendar or kanban. Agents can use the CLI, agent setup guides, or MCP setup guides.

Question 9

What is the agent workspace?

Accepted Answer

A workspace holds your channels, posts, and team in one place. Use separate workspaces for different brands or clients. See the Glossary. Limits are on Pricing and billing limits. Agent hosts: Agents.
